About

Ever since I used my first camera to capture family holidays, I have continually grown to love using photography as my medium of choice. The mix of real and surreal qualities present in the art form fascinates me and my eye is always drawn to images both large and small. Along with this comes a desire for great presentation and aesthetic appeal.

My photography is shaped by an attention to detail and an appreciation for the broader atmosphere of a setting. The aim I have for my landscapes is to reproduce what I feel is an accurate representation of the scene with both its appearance and its vibe.

The creative process in making frames for my own artwork [from local wood] is a satisfying work in its own right. I think the hardwoods native to the Southwest have incredible qualities for frames and other fine furnishings. It is certainly a process of discovery as each frame literally comes out of the woodwork. The part I love the most is that every frame is unique in its patterns, markings, and design.

Growing up near the Stirling Ranges in Western Australia, I have a true love for country and outback areas. Western Australia in particular provides some of the best areas in the world to sit and enjoy the awe of God's magnificent creation. Photography for me is a way to bring a little of that fleeting beauty into a form that others can also appreciate.
